I like to think I'm not catastrphizingvas much as pointing out my belief that things rarely go really well. I _can_ appreciate when something goes really well. I just don't see it happen all that often.
Toxic positivity. I've never had a phrase for inappropriate optimism. I'm known as Mr. Negativity. But I think that's partly from people telling me about silver linings ripped long ago that were never repaired. My response seems to be working to find in every situation the worst thing that could happen so as to avoid situations where someone will remind me of silver linings. Thanks for giving this a name.
