I just got up to put on a wool jumper here in Dublin so I'm not sure I'll need these tips anytime soon, but they were still enjoyable to read! Thank you for sharing 🙏
Great tips, Joy! The car seat and steering wheel tips reminded me of cars in the 70’s where the vinyl peeled the skin off your legs (or hands) if you’d didn’t put a towel down first. Eek!
Sound advice. Fellow Texan here. I would add to meal plan no-cook dinners. I try to avoid turning on the oven or stove as much as possible in the summer. And I leave the house as little as possible and try to run necessary errands in the mornings so I’m not out in the hottest part of the day when it feels like living in Satan’s ass crack.
Yes, good one! Back in college, I learned about bias in standardized testing via a question that was asked to young El Paso students— what do you use an umbrella for? They all answered for shade, which was the wrong answer according to the test. Not in the desert!
That's interesting! I'm a native Texan but having lived in South Africa it was common to see people using umbrellas when there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
I love it! This is very sage advice, and very funny. I’m also quite intolerant of swamp ass and underboob sweat, unless I’m actively exercising. It was 87 degrees here in northern New Hampshire at 11am, and I just keep reminding myself that I lived in Miami for five years. I can do this! It’s all about the cold shower. 🚿
All good tips. I'm bracing for a hot summer here in CTX.

That’s a great tip! We make a lot of smoothies
And don't forget to wear a hat outside or carry an umbrella for shade. You might get some funny looks from people but it works.
