Thank you, Joy, for your poignant words. Unfortunately, Florida will need a change in leadership to acknowledge and climate change and allow the term back into its textbooks. I fear for my children and grandchildren.
The helplessness is so real. My husband has gone to LBK every year since he was a kid. We are so worried about this place and all its people. Thank you for writing about this.
I feel pretty helpless in light of the quickening pace of catastrophic weather events and am just so angry at those who deny it's man-made. All I can do is vote and pray our children and grandchildren are able to make the changes we don't have the political will for.

❤️ you’re welcome. It’s so hard.
Thanks for this. I also feel a lot of climate anxiety, anger, and helplessness.
For sure, I’ll be up in your neck of the woods this weekend and I just found out it’s been droughty, just like here in Texas. Argh!

Yes, it's so hard to find a "silver lining" in the situation.
I'm struggling with similar thoughts, fears, worries... Thank you for putting all of this into such eloquent words. ❤️ I feel so helpless.
My heart goes out to you and everyone there. It's just awful.
Super sad stuff 😞
